This event is open to anyone, orienteering club members or non-members. Suitable for families, novices and the more experienced adventurers out there. Orienteering club members (any club in NZ) receive a discounted entry fee.

Location
The event will take place within a 30 minute drive from the Blenheim CBD. Actual location will be announced closer to the event date.  

Detailed travel directions and other information will be in the final instructions which will be emailed to the team contact on 23 May and will also be available on the website. 

Registration, course planning, briefing, start, finish, post event food will all take place at the event venue. Catering is provided and includes a burger (vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options) and a drink. The cost is included in the entry fee.


Terrain
Largely a variety of rolling land with some moderate and steep hills. A mix of mostly clean open grassland, gullies, flat areas. Shelterbelts, scattered trees, patches of scrub. Defined ridges, spurs, knolls, saddles, lots of gullies and water courses, plenty of contours with good stock routes. Farm vehicle tracks and stock tracks.

Categories
3 Hour only with Juniors (U18 as of 1 January 2025), Senior and Families (must be all residing at the same address)

All teams must consist of 2 people minimum. 

Entry Fees (Per Person)

Orienteering Club members (any club) - Junior $25, Senior $35, Family $80 

Non-members - Junior $25, Senior $45, Family $105.

SportIdent (SI) – will be used for controls and timing. Only one required per team. Included within the entry fee for all teams. People with their own SI need to enter the number into the online entry details. Note: if you have your own SI please ensure that it can cope with up to 50x controls/punches. 

If you are completing the entry for more than one team then please do these as separate entries. 

ENTRIES CLOSE 9:00PM SUNDAY 18 MAY 2025. This allows us time to get maps printed and other event logistics.

Refund policy
30% refund - withdrawal within ten days before the event
No refunds for cancellations after the 19th May


The Landowners/Farmers instructions are:
No dogs. Not even in your vehicles.
Farm buildings, houses and private properties are Out of Bounds. 

There will be portaloo toilets.

Entries

Family Team - Add your family members names to your entry. If your family team is splitting into two teams then please record the other Team name and members of that team.

If Families are splitting up or entering in a non-Family team then you need to enter as a Standard team.

Standard Team - Once you have completed your entry you need to add your other team members using Save and add another person tab until all have been entered then use the Save and Continue tab. You will pay for your team entry. Your team members then pay you their fees.

Colour blindness

Please let us know if you are colour blind so we can print a map with black control circles and numbers

SportIdent Dibber

Add Dibber Number if you have your own one. Note that you will want a SI dibber capable of 'punching' 40 - 50 controls. Only one Dibber per team

Please provide any medical details we should be aware of i​.e. allergies, location of medicine etc in case of an emergency. Please share this information with your team and if you are carrying any medication.

For the food options enter the option(s) and next to it how many for each team member i​.e. for a three person team: Meat 2x, Vege 1x

Indemnity

I acknowledge on behalf of my team that the Event Organisers, MOC, Orienteering NZ, and the owners of the land used for this event accept no liability for any loss, damage or injury to ourselves (including vehicles at the event venue) resulting from our participation in this event. We understand that this event is organised and staffed by volunteers. We enter this event at our own risk and acknowledge that there may be risks associated with the sport of Rogaining, and that we are also responsible for our own safety. We will comply with safety requirements set out in the event documents and the organiser’s briefings. The event Health & Safety, Hazards, HARM and other safety documents and forms will be available on the MOC website and every team member should read these.

Please note if any of your team members change a manual indemnity form (available on the MOC website) will need to be completed and handed in at registration.

By taking part in this event, you agree that and grant permission for the event organisers to use any images or video taken at the event for promotion purposes. This includes social media, any future promotion of the sport including websites and fundraising
